To help Falls Church speed its transition to quieter, cleaner electric lawn equipment, the Falls Church Climate Action Network is again helping City residents recycle old gas leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and other yard tools. Residents can recycle gas lawn tools at the Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 217 Gordon Road in Falls Church, VA.

In 2023, the City government adopted a plan to help residents and businesses save energy and accelerate their transition away from fossil fuels. The community is not making adequate progress, and FCCAN assesses whether the city government is following through on its official plan.
